Mutton Bone

Made from what resembles mutton bone or similar this museum quality hand carved snuff box is in the figure of a seated women and dated from the late 18th century.

The long stool stands on four curved "os de mouton" legs (or mutton bone), embellished with a carved central stretcher at the base.
