WONDERFUL PAINTED IRON BASEBALL PLAYER PENNY BANK FROM A COLLECTION OF FOLK ART AND TOYS.THIS BANK HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL GILDING AND PAINT AS FOUND.THE CONDITION IS GOOD.

This heavy cast iron pig penny bank was found in New England. It is in as found condition with a light worn coat of black paint.

A perfect holiday item, this "reindeer" bank is listed in Andy Moore's definitive book on banks "The Penny Bank Book" Item #736 page 96.

It is listed in Andy Moore's "The Penny Bank Book" at #149 o0n page 70.

Marked and stamped on the bottom: Auböck Made in Austria. This penny bank is one of our favorite Carl Aubock items.

It was then called "Large Seated Rabbit" and is documented in Andy Moore's concise book on still banks called "The Penny Bank Book"; listed as item number 570.

Gorilla still bank is listed as #744 in Andy Moore's "The Penny Bank Book".

The bank is documented in two publications; listed as #105 in Andy Moore's "The Penny Bank Book", and also on page 37, #117 in "Coin Banks by Banthrico" written by James Redwine.

Shaped like a pyramid this cast iron penny bank was made to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of America; thus inscribed at the top (see image) 1776-1976.

It then had to be put back together. The bank is referenced as #B1145 in Andy Moore's "The Penny Bank Book".

Embossed on the back is the name of the bank "Penny Pineapple, Hawaii". The back of Penny Pineapple replicates a pineapple and the green growth atop the head furthers the theme.

At the conclusion the penny automatically drops into the bank. Nicely lithographed all around ,this amazing bank was made in Japan in the early 1950's by the "Wonderful Toy Company".
