Antique Helmet

A fine and unusual brass coal helmet being of a 'Nautilus' shell shape. Quite possibly originating from a coastal environment.

A super Victorian copper coal helmet with cast brass hinges and handle to the rear.

The Original helmet was discovered in Pompeii circa 1766/1767 from the Gladiator's Barracks behind the stage of the Large Theatre, near the Sabian Gate.
