Recent New York exhibitions inspired the Rubell family to mount an exhibition of their holdings in this area, reproduced here in 30 Americans. A leading figure in the Indian Space painting movement of the late 1940s, Barnet stressed the spatial structures of Northwest Coast Indian art.
