André Beaudin (1895-1979) was a French painter and sculptor known for his distinctive contributions to modern art. Born in Mennecy, France, Beaudin studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Initially influenced by Cubism, Beaudin developed a unique style characterized by simplified forms and geometric abstraction. He often depicted still lifes, nudes, and landscapes with a poetic and lyrical quality, using a subdued color palette and refined compositions. Beaudin's work evolved over time, incorporating elements of Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism while maintaining his focus on structure and balance. ABOUT THE ARTIST
Robert Vale Faro (1902-1988) was a modernist architect and artist associated with the Chicago Bauhaus. He received his degree in architecture and design from the Armour Institute in Chicago and worked at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, from 1924-27, where he was influenced by Harry Kurt Bieg and Le Corbusier. Upon his return to Chicago, Faro worked with the important modernist Chicago architects George and William Keck under Louis Sullivan.

André Beaudin (born February 3, 1895 at Mennecy and died June 6, 1979) was a painter, graphic artist, designer and sculptor French belonging to the School of Paris, whose work followed Cubism.
André Beaudin studied from 1911 to 1915 at the l'École des Arts Décoratifs. In 1919, he married, and in 1922, he met Juan Gris, who become a lifelong friend and who encouraged his artistic efforts. He was also influenced by Matisse.
In 1937 Beaudin exhibited at the International Paris exhibition, and the following year participated in the L’Art Français Exhibition in Buenos Aires. By the 1940’s he had established an international reputation and held major solo shows in Dublin, 1947; New York and Zurich, 1949; Berne 1953; Stockholm, 1956; Maison de la Culture du Harvre, 1962; Chicago, 1967; Milan, 1970; Grand Palais, Paris, 1970.
