Questions About Astral Lighting
  • 1stDibs ExpertApril 5, 2022
How an Astral lamp works depends on its design. Early models held lamp oil and glowed when you lit an internal wick. The shade on the lamp then directed the light down onto a work surface. After the advent of electricity, the lamps carried electricity through wiring to a bulb screwed into a porcelain socket. The electrical energy heated a filament in the bulb, causing it to glow and produce light. You'll find a range of Astral lamps on 1stDibs.
