"Emeralite Co". Banker's Lamp w/ Art Glass Glass Shade by "Bellova", ca. 1920

About the Item

This very high quality desk lamp was produced by the Emeralite Co. The most respected and famous makers of Banker's lamps. On occasion when the company wanted a special glass shade, they had the Bellova Co. of Czechoslovakia make one, like ours. Colors of candy with a raised design along the border The glass is completely opaque but gives off plenty of light from below. It's really a feast for the eyes and to the touch. The base is patinated brass and can be adjusted as shown in our photos. There is a heavy iron weight below the round base for extra stability. A rare and beautiful lamp to be shown off on your desk.

This beautiful little lamp can be used as a desk lamp by just adjusting the lower knuckle to the highest point, which we did for our measurement, or you can lower it with that same knuckle. You can change the angle of the shade with the 2nd knuckle. The beauty is in the lovely painted scene on the shade and the rich gilt patina on the base, which is highlighted with red accent. This really is a little gem. Very high quality and guaranteed to be made by the Pittsburgh Lamp Co. We've sold enough of their lamps to recognize their work. So much more fun than the usual green shade bankers lamp...
