Antique Banker's Desk Lamp by Emeralite, Original Green Shade, ca. 1917
About the Item
A very fine example of the genre known as banker's lamps. This example is signed by the most famous maker of these lamps, Emeralite. The shade is the original with no damage. These shades were made in 2 layers, known as cased glass. The inside layer of white glass keeps the lightbulb from being visible. The shades were normally made in Europe from countries such as Austria, and Czechoslovakia and were imported for use by the Emeralite Co.
The patina on the base is in beautiful condition and the base is extra heavy as it has an iron weight underneath.
This lamp has 2 adjustments, one for the angle of the shade, and the other for the height and length. Our measurements below were made with the lamp upright.
