Beatrice Gildersleeve Art

1892-1933

Beatrice Gerberding Gildersleeve was born in San Francisco, California, on January 28th, 1892. During the 1920s and early 1930s, she was residing at Felton and active in the art colony in Santa Cruz. In 1931, Gildersleeve participated in the California statewide exhibition held in Santa Cruz. She was a member of the San Francisco Women Artists and Santa Cruz Art League. She passed away in San Francisco on September 25th, 1933.

Willett, a painter with a family lineage dating back to ancestors arriving in this country aboard the Mayflower and Victory, settling Plymouth. Some recorded family history finds a Willett ancestor, Augustine Willett whom was a Captain of historic repute under the command of General Washington.
