Decade: 1970s This original vintage Studio Ceramic Object was designed by Otto Meier and produced in his own Studio in the 1970s in Bremen, Worpswede in Germany. It is made of solid ceramic pottery and has a very unique brown and beige, coloration and surface structure. The bottom is marked with typical Otto Meier Producer signature OM. a very collectible and very rare item of the Meier Collection. the object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 14x11cm, it is very impressive. straightforward and minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. Self-taught artist John Seubert, AKA John Dolly, uses objects he uncovers as he rehabs older homes in Chicago. This piece is constructed with a small framed mirror and a shoe form from which two portraits emerge. The small portraits are cut in the shape of the head. The back carries the inscription of the title. John Seubert The Mythologist found objects 20.50H x 8.50W x 8D in 52.07H x 21.59W x 20.32D cm JSE042 In the early Nineties, John Seubert was living in a former hotel in a high-rise building on St. James Place in Chicago. The apartment was tiny, as hotel rooms tend to be, and clad with paper-thin walls allowing sound to pass from one apartment to the other. At the time, John’s artwork consisted of pounding copper sheets into tables which was a noisy endeavor to say the least. Following several noise complaints from the neighbors, John had a dream that he was living in a ramshackle house but with plenty of room to work and no attached neighbors.
