Fabulous set of six bold black and red rubber armchairs by Metro for Steelcase designed by Brian Kane. In wonderful ready to use vintage 1992 condition. Bold and sleek is how I would describe these fabulous vintage rubber armchairs designed by Brian Kane and manufactured originally by Mertropolitan Furniture Company. Metropolitan Furniture Company or Metro was purchased in the 1980s by Steelcase. The designer, Brian Kane, joined the design staff of Metro in 1977. He became one of four partners and assumed the job of Vice President of Design and Product Development less than three years later and remained 2 years after the purchase by Steelcase. The chair is made of black steel encased in EPDM rubber tubing with red upholstered seats. They are in wonderful ready to use vintage condition.
