Overlooking Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay - Plein Air Landscape in Oil on Canvas Gorgeous plein air landscape of Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay by Brian Rounds (American, b. 1968). Grey-purple clouds have rolled in over Santa Cruz around sunset, casting shadows and creating highlights in the city. Streaks of light shine through the clouds, and there is a yellow glow at the edge of the water in the distance. This piece is completed in a loose, abstracted style that captures the rapidly changing scenery. Signed and dated by the artist on verso. Unframed, but the artist has painted the edges black to allow for a frame-less display. Canvas size: 24"H x 30"W Acquired directly from the artist.
