• How do you tell if Canada Goose is real?

To tell if Canada Goose is real, check the inside of the hologram tag. Since its Fall/Winter 2011 collection, every piece produced by the brand has featured one of these anti-counterfeiting tags, which are very difficult to replicate. It is unlikely to be authentic if your piece's hologram doesn't show a polar bear when viewed from different angles. When authenticating older Canada Goose pieces, compare the wash tag, neck tag and Arctic Disc logo on your jacket to images shared on trusted online resources, which can help you spot inconsistencies that allow you to identify a knockoff. If you'd like an expert opinion, consult a certified appraiser or experienced authenticator. Explore a range of Canada Goose apparel on 1stDibs.

• How can you tell a fake Canada Goose jacket?

  1 Answer
  1stDibs ExpertOctober 24, 2024

To tell a fake Canada Goose jacket, first look at the Arctic Disc, usually located near the shoulder. Compare the patch on your jacket to images of the disc on authentic jackets posted on the official Canada Goose website and other reputable online sources. Any wording, font size or image discrepancies usually indicate a jacket is counterfeit.

If your jacket has fur trim, it should feel soft rather than bristly or stiff, and the seam that secures it to the jacket should be evenly stitched and secure. Jackets made from 2017 onwards will also have a hologram logo on a tag stitched into their lining. When you view the tag from different angles, you'll see a polar bear if the jacket is authentic.

If you have lingering doubts, you can request an authentication from Canada Goose within 30 days of purchase. You can find instructions for requesting this service on the brand's official site.
