Claudio Olivieri was born in Milan, Italy, in 1934. His very first painting dates from 1959. His first solo exhibition was held at the Salon Annunciata in Milan in 1960. It was at this time that his artistic career became intense and from 1966, he regularly participated in the Venice Biennale, which was dedicated to him in 1980 and 1990. Olivieri was considered one of the most important representatives of analytical painting.
