Original Vintage TWA HOLY LAND 1960s Travel Airline Poster, David Klein
By David Klein
Located in Bath, Somerset
Original vintage TWA Holy Land 1960s travel advertising poster featuring a wonderful design by American artist David Klein. We adore Klein's typically stylised and colourful design of a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak is approaching Noah's great wooden ark floating on the flood waters. Trans World Airlines (TWA) was a major airline in the United States that operated from 1930 until it was acquired by American Airlines in 2001. It was formed as Transcontinental & Western Air to operate a route from New York City to Los Angeles, soon followed by multiple National routes. Howard Hughes acquired control of TWA in 1939, and after World War II led the expansion of the airline to serve Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, making TWA a second unofficial flag carrier of the United States after Pan Am. David Klein (1918 – 2005) was an American artist, best known for his influential work in advertising. Although he produced illustrations for Broadway theatrical productions, Hollywood films, the United States Army, and numerous corporate clients, Klein is best remembered for the iconic travel images he created for Howard Hughes and Trans World Airlines (TWA). Between approximately 1955–1965, Klein designed numerous award-winning travel advertisement posters, the bulk for TWA, many of which are now considered emblematic of the 1960s Jet Age. In 1957 New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) added Klein's iconic TWA Times Square...

'TWA London' Original Vintage Travel Poster by David Klein, 1950s
By David Klein

During the 1950s and 1960s, American artist David Klein created dozens of alluring posters for Howard Hughes' glamorous Trans World Airlines, capturing the excitement and adventure of travel. His iconic designs, with their bright and colorful illustrations of famous landmarks, won many awards and came to define the spirit of the jet age. Issued by Trans World Airlines circa 1954, a Queen's Guard stands sentry in front of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament on Klein's painterly poster to advertise TWA flights to London, during a period of burgeoning interest in England following the 1953...

1977 David Bowie, Heroes Original Vintage Poster
By David Bowie
Located in Winchester, GB
One of the most celebrated albums & songs of all-time from one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century, "Heroes" was released by David Bowie in October 1977 to critical and commercial acclaim. Following the release of "Low" earlier the same year, the album is the second in Bowie's highly influential "Berlin Trilogy". The titular track was released in September as the lead single and although not hugely successful upon initial release, went on to become regarded as one of Bowie's greatest tracks and one of the greatest of all-time. Featuring iconic album artwork shot by Masayoshi Sukita, which, in the same vein as Iggy Pop's "The Idiot" cover, pays homage to Erich Heckel's Roquairol and Young Man paintings...

David Bowie Hunky Dory Vinyl Record Album First Pressing
By David Bowie
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Original David Bowie hunky dory vinyl first pressing RCA Records, 1971 Minor wear to cover; otherwise good to very good vintage condition Record plays nicely and is in good to very good shape Hunky Dory is the fourth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 17 December 1971 by RCA Records. It was his first release through RCA, which would be his label for the next decade. Hunky Dory has been described by All Music's Stephen Thomas Erlewine as having "a kaleidoscopic array of pop styles, tied together only by Bowie's sense of vision: a sweeping, cinematic mélange of high and low art, ambiguous sexuality, kitsch, and class".[2] The album has received critical acclaim since its release, and is regarded as one of Bowie's best works. Time chose it as part of their "100 best albums of all time" list in January 2010, with journalist Josh Tyrangiel praising Bowie's "earthbound ambition to be a boho poet with prodigal style". The style of the album cover, designed by George Underwood...
