Doris Ann Warner Sculptures
American
Doris Ann Warner was born in Kansas in 1925. Warner first achieved recognition as an Abstract Expressionist painter, primarily known for stone carving as well as abstract female figures, which emphasized body movement through the rhythmic flow of mass and line. Warner studied sculpting at the University of California, Santa Cruz, earning her bachelor's in 1983 as well as Pietrasanta, Italy, with Professor Pasquale Martini in 1988.

The multiple opacities of navy and indigo are almost denim-like in color and allow the brown wood grain to add texture and interest to the piece.
