The town church sits in the centre of the painting overlooking the bay where boats with red sails are sailing. This work was executed between 1928 and 1929 when Maclet worked in Brittany before returning to Picardy. Signature: Signed lower right. Dimensions: Framed: 28"x32" Unframed: 20"x24" Maclet was born the son of a gardener and a laundress at Lihons in the Santerre region in Picardy.
