Emalita Newton Terry was born in San Angelo, Texas. She was a painter and an instructor at A&M University in College Station, Texas. She studied at the Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. Her work has been exhibited in Dallas, the Art League in Houston, Texas as well as the Houston Fine Arts Museum. Her work has reached as far as New York and Nevada. Her preferred media were watercolors, acrylics, oils and graphics.
