This garden bird sculpture is perfectly preserved and so charming colored with glass eyes. Base: 6.50" x 5.50" "Émile Taugourdeau (1917-1989), a mason who lived in Thorée les Pins, France, around 1954 made an ornament decorated with mosaic to embellish his garden. In 1974, Emile Taugourdeau’s duck died, which prompted him to sculpt the duck in cement in order to immortalize it. This venture ignited a fifteen-year creative passion that thrived over the years, and eventually led to a “Zoological Garden” full of cement birds...
