"Saint Vitus Architeuthis Manalishi with the Seven Tentacle Crown" by Hunter Stabler is an original ink and graphite on hand-cut paper layered piece mounted to plexiglass. The piece ships in the pictured wood frame and measures 44"h x 44"w. Hunter Stabler was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and was raised in upstate South Carolina. He received a BFA in painting from The Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Digital Art at Louisiana State University. His work has been widely exhibited across the United States and internationally including exhibitions at the Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn, NY, The Shelburne Art Museum in Shelburne, VT, the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, NJ, and the Islip Art Museum in East Islip, NY. "I was born and raised in Chicago," Linn says, "and in 1956 before my 13th birthday, my father took me to Maxwell Street to buy me my first suit. This was a momentous occasion, not because I was getting a suit, but it was my introduction to the blues. Maxwell Street was the center of Jewish pushcart commerce and haberdashery emporiums, it was also where black blues musicians congregated, played, and thrived in harmony with their neighbors. My dad let me stay and listen that day and I became a life-long fan." Curt Stenvert was an Austrian avant-garde artist who initially worked as a painter. His artistic practice gradually expanded to include cinematic works and object art. His works are still internationally acclaimed today. He received his artistic training through his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He studied there with Albert Paris Gütersloh and Fritz Wotruba, which enabled him to deal with aspects of movement and perspective. This resulted in his aluminium plexiglass sculptures. His cinematic works were also influenced by his preoccupation with movement. Movement became a central motif in his works. Stenvert introduces the viewer to the biological, psychological, sociological and philosophical conditions of human existence.
