Ephraim Ståhl (1767 Stockholm 1820), fine pair of Late Gustavian / Early Empire Chairs with intersecting arrows with centered rosettes, griffin motif and fluted legs, origin: Stockholm, Sweden, circa 1800, reupholstered in linen sateen fabric by Rogers & Goffigon. At the Collective 2, NYC, Glenn Adamson, the Director of the Museum of Arts and Design, was the guest curator for Collective Focus: Scandinavia, a special exhibition booth at the Fair. Glenn selected and curated a very special, and small, selection of furniture and objects to showcase the best of design from Scandinavia. He chose these Late Gustavian Griffin motif chairs.
