Ernest Igl Lighting

Ernest Igl graduated from the Karlsbad Commercial Academy in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich. After the war, he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist in Munich. Igl enjoyed a high reputation as one of the first illustrators at major school book publishers and distinguished himself as an internationally sought-after industrial designer. He died in Davos in 2001.

An elegant, space-age and a timeless design which is reminiscent of a UFO. Designed by Ernest Igl for Hillebrand Leuchten in Germany during the 1950s. The light is made with a circular light reflecting canopy which is a brown rust colour on the top and white underneath which the light beautifully reflects from. A perforated enameled metal frame surrounds the single bulb allowing the light to shine through the holes and beneath. Four brass angled rods hold it in place which also appear through the canopy. A single E27 screw in bulb is required. In full working order. The wiring has been checked by an electrician. I would recommend a LED bulb as shown in the images. Dimensions: Diameter: 44 cm Height of the shade only: 20 cm. The height is adjustable depending on your requirements. A new polished antique brass...
