The combination of the stylish and timeless design and the natural materials makes this rare table an absolute joy to own and look at. Near Pair of Ebonized Oak & Brass Art Deco Magazine Stand Carts Ernst Rockhausen
By Ernst Rockhausen
Located in Lisse, NL
Early 20th century, modernist magazine stands. These highly practical and very-pleasing-to-the-eye magazine stands are by Ernst Rockhausen (since 1866) and the lower one has the circular and colored Art Deco metal nameplate on the back (image 6&7). Because of the timeless design these ebonized oak & brass stands can be used in all kinds of interiors and for all kinds of purposes. The different layers make them very functional and these are truly high quality, durable and low maintenance 'interior upgrades'. We have sold two pieces by Ernst Rockhausen before and his rare designs never fail to impress. To find this pair in such an amazing condition in an estate in The Hague more than made our day. Now here they are, ready for you to use and enjoy. Mind you, our price for these modernist racks...

Antique Dutch Arts & Crafts Copper & Wooden End Table / Stand Conrad Fehn Attr.
By Conrad Fehn
Located in Lisse, NL
Very rare, early 20th century craftsmanship end table. Finding the most beautiful and rarest antiques in the best possible condition is what we dream of and we have been very fortunate to have had many dreams come true. When you look at this Arts & Crafts table then you can see that recently another one did. Conrad Fehn was born in Nuremberg, Germany, but moved to Haarlem, the Netherlands in 1914. In literature he is described, not as a metalworker, but as a 'metal-artist' and when you look at this table (and some of his other work) then you can see why (if you have a good eye). When he opened up his studio in Haarlem around 1917 his Arts and Crafts designs had a very distinctive style, one that very much alligned with the Amsterdam School. The reason why this table is so extremely rare, is because Conrad Fehn was not known for making furniture. His work predominantly involved smaller pieces, such as coasters, bowls, candle holders, some clocks and a few table lamps. Even though this is not a large piece of furniture, we have never before seen a table of his hand. This piece may not be signed or marked, but since we acquired this remarkable table in Haarlem, since it has Conrad Fehn's workmanship and style 'written all over it' and after we asked an expert whom's opinion we highly value, we are convinced this is the work of Conrad Fehn. The pure Arts and Crafts design, the size, the make and the patina of this table are to die for and for such a table to be in this condition simply amazed us. This burnished copper table of circa one hundred years even comes with a near mint table...
