F.B. Rogers Silver Co. Lidded Silverplate Ice Bucket with Milk Glass Liner
By F.B. Rogers Silver Co.
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This elegant lidded ice bucket was produced by the esteemed F.B. Rogers Silver Company, a respected American silver manufacturer founded in 1883. The piece features a classic silver-plated exterior with restrained neoclassical lines, scroll-form side handles, and a domed lid topped with a sculptural acorn finial. Inside, the bucket retains its original milk glass liner, designed to insulate ice while protecting the silverplate from moisture—an increasingly rare and highly desirable feature. The base is stamped “F.B. Rogers Silver Co.” along with a crown emblem and the date 1883, which references the company’s founding year, not the production date. The number 6599 or 8599 is a model or pattern number, used internally by the manufacturer. This stamp confirms the piece is silverplate (not sterling) and authentic to F.B. Rogers’ mid-20th-century production, when the firm was especially known for refined barware and entertaining pieces. With its substantial weight, timeless silhouette, and practical liner, this ice bucket bridges function and decorative appeal, making it ideal for both use and display. Maker & Markings Maker: F.B.
