Unusual vintage majolica basket vase features complex glaze with abstract leaves and flowers decors surrounding the motifs of cornucopia, a glove, and a deer, hand painted in dark teal color with black outlines over textured white background glaze. The handles are attached in crisscross manner with flat textured elements accented in the same teal and black colors.
The vase is signed on the bottom with model number, "E&R", and "Italy"; while it does not have the usual manufacturer's mark, "FF", the glazing and the decor styles are both characteristic of Fratelli Fanciullacci designs from 1950s-1960s. It was common for Italian ceramics manufacturers to omit marking their pieces with their logos if the they were intended for American or European distributors; instead, they would only mark it "Italy" to allow the distributor to use their stickers, or rarely, they would mark the piece with "studio name" for "distributor name", if the distributor did not object.
