Art Deco Pierre D'Avesn Green Molded Glass Bowl
By Pierre D'Avesn
Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects.
Original and iconic molded glass bowl; its shape is simple and bold, cleverly proportioned, the result of intelligent aesthetic reflection; chromium oxide and iron oxide were added during glass fusion to achieve the beautiful emerald green coloration; the bowl, in the Art Deco style, was produced in France between 1930 and 1935 by Pierre D'Avesn, an artist who at that time worked at the Daum glassworks, where he developed an innovative molded glass technique, resulting in pieces of stunning transparency and brilliance like our bowl. Pierre d'Avesn was born in 1901 and initially worked at Rene Lalique for 10 years. During this time, he designed Lalique's famous "Snake" vase and the "Tourbillons" vase, two of "Lalique's" most expensive...
