Gufram Alvar Lounge Chair by Giuseppe Raimondi
By Giuseppe Raimondi, Gufram Furniture
Located in La Morra, Cuneo
Sitting on the ground, but ready to be moved elsewhere, Alvar is a chaise-lounge of structural polyurethane foam that preserves the lightness and versatility of the Sixties. After 40 years it has certainly matured in spirit, but deep in its soul it keeps its hippie attitude alive. Conceived in the years of radical design, Alvar is one of the first products with which Gufram faced the Challenge to produce modern furniture as opposed to the status quo...

GUFRAM Mozza Stool & Chair by Giuseppe Raimondi
By Gufram Furniture, Giuseppe Raimondi
Located in La Morra, Cuneo
Designed in 1968 by Giuseppe Raimondi, Mozza maintains the same vibrant revolutionary appeal and ability to adapt to countless living needs. Rendered in its present edition in a sexier and slimmer form, Mozza is an upturned truncated and athwart-cut cone on which it would seem impossible to sit. By lying back on its sloping surface of sort polyurethane, though, its structure gives in to body weight until it acquires the shape of a chair with back- and armrests. It's simple but original structural magic that makes it one of a kind. Mozza's external mass misleads you. Thanks to its lightness, this seat becomes a nomadic and versatile object in the living landscape. The primary seat for the sitting-room at home or the perfect service armchair in the sophisticated and elegant halls of design hotels, Mozza combines the international contemporary style with the characters of the Italian radical design, highlighted by the variety of its contemporary and pop upholstery colours. ABSTRACT Designed in 1968 by Giuseppe Raimondi, Mozza is an upturned truncated and athwart-cut cone on which it would seem impossible to sit. TECHICAL INFO Seat of soft polyurethane covered with cloth. Ø 85x80 cm, 9 Kg Ø 33,5x31,5 in, 20 lb DID YOU KNOW 1. It's one of the first projects by Gufram – born at the beginning of its activity. 2. It was designed by the first Artistic Director of the brand – Giuseppe Raimondi. 3. Mozza's sloping plane becomes soft when weight is set on it, and it allows you to comfortably sink in it. 4. Mozzo de-constructs the traditional...

Italy is a world trendsetter, and has produced some of the greatest furniture designers in the world, such as Achille Castiglioni, Gio Ponti, and Ettore Sottsass. Italian interior design in the 1900s was particularly well-known and grew to the heights of class and sophistication. At first, in the early 1900s, Italian furniture designers struggled to create an equal balance between classical elegance and modern creativity, and at first, Italian interior design in the 1910s and 1920s was very similar to that of French art deco styles, using exotic materials and creating sumptuous furniture. However, Italian art deco reached its pinnacle under Gio Ponti, who made his designs sophisticated, elegant, stylish and refined, but also modern, exotic and creative. In 1926, a new style of furnishing emerged in Italy, known as "Razionalismo", or "Rationalism". The most successful and famous of the Rationalists were the Gruppo 7...

‘Delfina’ postmodern dining chairs by Giuseppe Raimondi for Tetide, 1987
By Giuseppe Raimondi
Located in Den Haag, ZH
The elegance of these chairs is captured in their name imprinted underneath their seat: Delfina. The inscription also reveals that in 1987 Giuseppe Raimondi, received the Compasso d’Oro for this design - a price of very high prestige. Records from 1987 tell us that the design was juried by Angelo Cortesi (famous for the glass Waterfall table) and Rodolfo Bonetto (known for the Unghia mirror, also in our collection). In their opinion Giuseppe Raimondi had succeeded in transforming his great understanding of latest technologies, then dominated by plastic and steel, into a poetic manifestation. A poetic beauty that even complied with structural and ergonomic requirements. Our four Delfina chairs...
