This original oil painting by Hector Chalmers is presented and supplied in its’ 1930s frame.
The frame dimensions are 33cm high x 43cm wide. The visible painting dimensions are 24cm high x 33.5cm wide (9.45inches high x 13.19inches wide).
The painting is signed lower right.

Hector Chalmers was a Scottish painter who studied at the Trustees Academy in Edinburgh, the Royal Scottish Academician and the Art School on the Mount.
His early works consists mostly of figure subjects in oil, whilst later he painted attractive landscapes and portraits. He exhibited prolifically in leading Scottish and Irish galleries.
He was a member of the Scottish Arts Club and the Pen and Pencil Club. He lived, worked and died in Edinburgh in 1943.
Several examples of his work are held by the Glasgow Museums and the Scottish Borders Council.
