Stunning pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern royal blue and chrome armchairs by Hibriten Chair Company. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The chrome has no pitting that we have seen, and the fabric shows hardly any sign of use. There may be slight fading, but it is overall and so… not noticeable. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1960’s Bold, beautiful, and royal blue!!! This is a gorgeous pair of vintage armchairs by Hibriten Chair Company. They are constructed of square chrome tube frames and wear a lovely royal blue fabric on their seat and back. They’re just BEAUTIFUL!! They would be wonderful used as side chairs in your living room, family room, bedroom, study, or as host and Hostess chairs at either end of your Mid-Century Modern dining table. They are very versatile and have that pop of color you have been needing in that dull space. Regardless of where you choose to use them, they are sure to be eye-catching, comfortable, and full of Mid-Century Modern style. Hibriten actually had 2 companies- Hibriten Furniture Co, and Hibriten Chair Co. Both located in Lenoir, N. C. Hibriten Furniture was founded in the 1920’s by Orrin Robbins and Hibriten Chair Co. was founded a few years later by Robey Robbins. Hibriten Chair Co. was well known for its extremely high quality of solid mahogany or walnut French reproductions and other styles of furniture. Hibriten became a part of Bernhardt Furniture in the 1950-1960’s with their president George C. Robbins and was eventually purchased by Bernhardt sometime in the early 1970’s. Awesome set of 6 vintage modern style scoop seat dining chairs in coffee-with-cream colored velvet by Flair for Hibriten. Flair was a division of Bernhardt Furniture. There are two armed host chairs and four armless side chairs. All are in wonderful vintage condition. I have noticed that three of the chairs are a slightly lighter tone than the other three. Since it is so consistent, I believe it was intentional. However, they have sun faded a bit where they were pushed under the table. Please see photos, circa 1970s. If you have been looking for just the right set of modern style chairs…….look no further! These are incredibly handsome. They have a gorgeous wood frame of oak or ash with lovely curved scoop seat and high backs. They are upholstered in their original velvet which is a warm and wonderful coffee-with-cream color. Although three of the chairs are of a slightly different tone and there is some slight fading, are still beautiful and look lovely together. They have their original tags underneath stating Flair for Hibriten Furniture. That places them circa 1970s not only from their modern design style, but the fact that by 1982 Bernhardt had dropped their Flair Division and the Hibriten Furniture name. This amazing set of six dining chairs are stunning and comfortable statement makers. Bernhardt Furniture was established in 1889 by John Mathias Bernhardt and has been going strong for over 125 years. He spent many years out west in Oregon Territory. After a serious illness, traveling back home to Lenoir, North Carolina and working as a logger in the densely forested foothills of Grandfather Mountain...
