Igor Mitoraj Art
Polish, 1944-2014
Igor Mitoraj was a polish sculptor deeply rooted in the classical tradition. He sculpted broken or severed fragments of the male form, with an eye for the theatrical growing in years spent working on set designs and costumes for operas. Mitoraj took marble and bronze as his primary materials and created busts and heads derived from recognizable mythological subjects, such as Eros, Venus and Icarus.

Bufo Contemporary Bronze Sculpture Nude Boy Marble Stone Male Figure

Bufo Contemporary Bronze Sculpture Nude Boy Marble Stone Male Figure
Wim van der Kant (1949, Kampen) is a selftaught artist. Next to his busy profession as a teacher at a high school, he intensively practises his profession as a sculptor. Only when his work would measure up to his own standards, he decided to present it to the rest of the world. In 1995, he exhibited for the first time with Morren Galleries. Van der Kant desires to sculpt young people who still stand uninhibited and curiously in life. The reason he chooses to sculpt boys is, because he is one himself, this way the subject is closer to him. The anatomy of his figures testify of perfectionism. Van der Kant's subjects show similarities with the sculptures from the Greek and Roman antiquity...

Jean-Marie Giguère Abstract Fish Art Glass Sculpture Circa 1999
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Beautiful abstract fish art glass sculpture is by Canadian glass artist, Jean-Marie Giguère. He uses the Graal technique to create layers in the glass. The is piece is translucent with 2 engraved green fish with orange interior that reflects on the translucent section to make a muted orange color on the translucent area. Inside the orange section is a blue section (that I believe represents water) which also reflects on the bottom of the piece. Signed and dated 1999.
From Espace Verre, Giguère’s has been working with the Graal technique.
"This process combines glassblowing and engraving within layers of glass, revealing a smooth
decorative pattern. He is inspired by everything, while appropriating each
element. "I have searched for the common denominators to all
humans, to use them as themes in my compositions: the body,
territory, family, home, ancestors, religion, temples, God, nature,
food, lovemaking, as well as symbols of identity," says Giguère.Jean-Marie Giguère
