Ilaria Bianchi
Italian
Ilaria Bianchi is an Italian award-winning product and furniture designer, based in Milan, Italy. She works for design studios, galleries, companies and private clients. She started her practice in 2015, after receiving her degree in industrial design at the Polytechnic of Turin and an MA degree in ceramic, furniture and jewelry design at Central Saint Martins, in London, England. Bianchi's work, which uses a multi-disciplinary approach, ranges from industrial design to unique pieces to installations. Her works are shown in galleries, cultural centers and international fairs, such as the “Victoria & Albert Museum, Triennale di Milano, MiArt, Stockholm Design Fair, London Design Fair, Salone del Mobile” and many others. Her Duo Shelf project is one of the WallPaper* 2018 Design Award winners. In 2017, Bianchi was selected as one of the 100 ambassadors of Italian design, for the Italian Design Day event, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She's also included in the "Under 35 Italian Design" exhibition, at Triennale di Milano. In 2016, she founded The Ladies' Room collective with Agustina Bottoni, Astrid Luglio, and Sara Ricciardi. Their work began as a co-operation for observing contemporary design, by creating artifacts and experiences that are the engine of discussion on the renewed need for sensory involvement.

Hand-turned candleholder in white Carrara marble produced by Italian artisans.
This Rovinette candleholder is born from a reflection on historical landscapes. Architectures, archetypal shapes that allow the creation of a personal Capriccio vedutista. Rovinette candleholder establishes a visual imaginary that offers a brief escape from modernity. Looking up from work is the first step of a brief walk between ruins, an intimate space of solace and contemplation.
Handmade in Italy in Carrara marble the Rovinette candleholder is elegant and reminds a fallen roman temple and is suitable for modern and classic interiors.
These are objects that happily grow old: unafraid of the flow of time, they are an invitation to immerse oneself in it.
Ilaria Bianchi is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Milan. She works for design studios, galleries, companies, and private clients. Temperanza by Ilaria Bianchi promotes emotional relationships with our objects and intimate spaces. A production limited to the essential, an ethical manufacturing cycle involving materials, ancient traditional techniques and new methodologies, such us the "applicator baby bottle” method, an innovative way to hand-glaze ceramics. Temperanza is hand-made in Grottaglie (Puglia) in the prestigious Franco Fasano’s workshop and hand-glazed by the designer Ilaria Bianchi. Each element is handmade and therefore unique, every difference is the trace of the artist who created it. Temperanza’s objects tell us stories, things were never just things, tools to solve functional activities. Most of the time they embody symbolic and metaphorical values. The first human beings lived immersed in an

This sculptural shelf is completely handmade in Carrara savaging marble elements from the production cycle. Duo Shelf is a product of sustainable design promoting circular economy being produced from savaged materials. Every piece is unique and hand-carved by hand.
Here it is shown in precious marble Cipollino for the vertical elements and classic still stunning Carrara marble for the horizontal one.
The design is both sculptural and functional, adding strong yet elegant materiality to the environment where it's placed.
Thanks to the system designed it really easy to hang the shelf on the wall, using just three screws and three wall plugs provided inside the box. This system is fast and easy and the shelf is solid into the wall and can sustain up to 15kg on top.
