A spectacular American antique mantel shelf clock, by Ingraham Clock Company, Bristol, Connecticut (1831-1958).
This early 20th century, architectural faux marble black enameled case, richly decorated in classical style including verde green white veined marble pilaster columns with gilt corinthian capitals and base, gilded-bronze acanthus leaf scroll elements, incised decoration, ornate brass bezel, enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, housing working eight day time and strike movement, chimes once on half-hour and number of hours on the hour, rising on cast gilt metal splayed scroll feet, and monumental gilded cast Neoclassical female figural sculpture topper, with elegantly aged minor losses to figure. Beautiful patina over the whole. Retaining partial original label.
