Ball desk petrol lighter designed by Alfred Dunhill This is a rare antique desk liquid-petrol lighter, created in London England by the luxury brand of Alfred Dunhill, back in the 1929. The unusual lighter is the iconic ball shaped model named Unique with the Dunhill lift arm retailed in Paris France. The lighter has been assembled and carefully crafted in the shape of a ball in solid sterling silver with plain surfaces. This lighter show very nice condition with minimal traces of use and beautiful guilloche. Recently cleaned and serviced, not polished just to preserve the antique patina. An excellent, fine and impressive antique Georgian English sterling silver snuffer/pen tray made by William Bateman I; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver snuffer tray has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners. The surface of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and unembellished. The raised rounded border is embellished with an impressive vertebrate band of stylized floral, bud and foliate ornamentation, all on a matte background. The rim of the tray is encompassed with an exceptional applied gadroon decorated border accented with a floral motif to either side and a scrolling leaf decorated design to each corner. The underside of this impressive Georgian snuffer tray bears the silversmith's centre punch mark in addition to the full hallmarks pertaining to the renowned London silversmith William Bateman I.
