The subject matter of this painting is a vibrant scene in New Orleans of the "Poo-Pah Club" jazz band, acrobat performers, finely dressed ladies, and cherubs that have fallen from the heavens to be a part of such a joyous parade. The colors are magnificent!

Shamrock III, 1903 America's Cup
Located in Greenwich, CT
Signed lower right
The painting depicts Shamrock iii during the second race of the 1903 Americas Cup. With Clouds of spray flying from her bow and streaming a foaming wake astern Capt Bob Wringe is shown straining at the helm of Shamrock. Wringe draws every inch of speed from his charge as he valiantly gives chase to Reliance during the first leg of the race. Shamrocks well trained crew lie flat along the windward rail while others stand by at their stations ready to trim sails as required. This race was remarkable for the performance of her crew as they battled desperately to stay in touch with Reliance around the 30 mile course. Sir Thomas Lipton watches...

Peonies in White Light - Oil Painting with 12K White Gold Leaf, Blond Female
By Michael Van Zeyl
Located in Chicago, IL
The blond figure, along with the floating peonies, combine to explore the dynamic between the eternal and the temporal, as well as our own relationship with nature. The gold leaf adds a three-dimensional softness as well as a glow upon which the female figure floats. Her skin is seductively painted; her teal dress falls off her shoulder; white peonies float by; the scene is set for a dreamy visual feast. The painting is framed in a gilt frame.
