James Groleau Art

Militarisimus is one of sixteen color mezzotints from James Groleau’s acclaimed suite Flowers of Turbulence, a series composed of eight portraits and eight floral studies. Each portrait was inspired by nineteenth-century daguerreotypes and reimagined as a symbolic product of a turbulent society—traits such as greed, compassion, obedience, or, in this case, the psychological imprint of militarism.
