James Rassiat Art

French, 1909-1998
James RASSIAT (1909-1998) James Rassiat, a graduate of the School of Applied Arts in Paris, was an advertising designer at the Office of Art Editions in Paris, from 1935 to 1940. An independent painter, he exhibited for more than 40 years in the major Parisian salons: Salon of French artists, Salon d'Automne and mainly International Society of Fine Arts or SIBA (ex Colonial Society) during which time he received many prizes. James Rassiat was also an approved painter for the French Navy, where he participated for more than 20 years in numerous expeditions. He won several awards and prizes from the Salon de la Marine and was awarded a medal of honour in 1960. His execution techniques were very varied: watercolour, pen, gouache, oil on canvas and paper.
