Jean Noel Bouillet Lighting

Jean-Noel Bouillet, a French artist, was born in 1943. Bouillet is a little known artist here in the US who is a very well known and highly acclaimed art glass designer in France and Europe and has drawn comparisons to two of the finest French glasshouses in the world, Daum and Baccarat. He was heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Bouillet used the ancient Pre-Roman process of reverse painting, known in French as "Verre Églomisé" or "back / reverse painting" to hand lacquer his art glass designs from within the glass in the most vivid colors and hues.

Hollywood Regency blown glass and hand-crafted table lamp by the French glass artist Jean-Claude Novaro (1943-2014). This table lamp is composed of a black lacquered and varnished base with a gold chrome metal structure, and the hand-blown master glass sculpture. This sculpture is made of one large solid piece of blown art glass depicting two parrots or bowerbirds. It is made of subtly smoked transparent glass with gold leaf, which gives the piece an orange hue. Signed on the base (see photos). Collector’s item. Mint condition. Glass piece measurements: 42cm high, 23cm wide, and 14cm deep. Jean Claude Novaro (1943 Antibes, France - 2014 Monaco) was a world-renowed French master glassmaker, glassblower and artisan, considered one of the most important glass artists of the 20th century. He was, and still is, known as the “glass magician” for his ability to innovate and create pieces with techniques that resemble alchemy. He pioneered innovative techniques, such as the inclusion of precious metals (gold, silver, and bronze) and the development of glow-in-the-dark phosphorescent glass. His work reached such a magnitude that he is even listed in the Guinness Book of Records for having created the largest hand-blown glass work in the world. His works are exhibited in prestigious institutions such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. Very much in the style of Daum Cristal...
