Memento Clear Cell - contemporary modern abstract glass sculpture
Located in Doetinchem, NL
Memento Clear Cell is a unique contemporary modern glass object made by Australian glass artist Emily McIntosh. This sculpture is made up of three blown clear glass components, small, medium and large, that are all lathe worked with a brushed translucent finish. The artist has been pursuing themes of touch as human memory through marking the glass skin. Her sculpture is focused upon surface finishes that amplify translucency, shadow & the reflection of light within the glass creating impressions of fragility & the suggestion of vulnerability. They are reminiscent of time capsules or cells capable of holding onto transient thoughts and memories, these structures are intended to preserve and protect one’s precious ephemeral recollections that through time may otherwise become forgotten. Emily McIntosh (1978, Australia) graduated with a MA in Fine Art and earlier with a BA First Class Honours in Fine Arts in Ceramic Design - Glass from the Monash Unversity in Caulfield. After her study she spent several months in Japan at the Ezra Glass Studio working with renowned glass artist Hiroshi Yamano...

Large Flattened Form with Shards and Cane in Blues - blown glass vessel
By Susan Rankin
Located in Bloomfield, ON
This beautiful burnt orange vessel in blown glass takes its organic shape and wild patterns from nature. Canadian artist Susan Rankin finds inspiration in the ever-changing colours and forms in the garden she tends to all summer. “With this new series of blown vessels I am working with more transparent translucent colours, shards, glass threads and thread drawing. The resulting pieces have a history/story built into the surface, which encompass the optic qualities of glass and light.” Susan Rankin She graduated with honors from Sheridan College, Oakville Ontario, in 1989 and received a three-year artist in residency at the Harbourfront Centre glass studio. Rankin has studied glass at the Pilchuck...

'Red Karo Sphere' original hand-blown glass signed by Ioan Nemtoi
By Ioan Nemtoi
Located in Milwaukee, WI
Ioan Nemtoi's 'Red Karo Sphere' could easily become a centerpiece of any space or of any collection of glass art. The large oval form of the vase and the bright red color has a commanding presence. In addition, the artist's use of a grid-like pattern in the vase is striking, while regions of green and yellow remind of gestural Abstract Expressionist painting. 16 x 15 x 15 inches Signed 'Nemtoi' along the base Ioan Nemtoi was born in 1964 on a farm in Trusesti near Dorohoi, in North-Eastern Romania, as the eldest son of a large family. When Nemtoi was in the fifth grade, one of his teachers noticed his artistic talent and sent him to art school. Later he went on to the art branch...
