"Most villages were mostly abandoned, city life was the preference. The few left in the village were very graceful and kind. As I was painting a small crowd gathered to watch. It began to rain. I was kept dry by an umbrella held over me provided by the local people.

Among the onlookers were Mian Situ’s brother, an artist from Canada, who is a cousin to the Situs. The Situ family Museum is across the street from where we were painting."
