Jules Leroy Art
Jules LeRoy was a Victorian painter, born in France, in 1856, the son of the still life painter, Jules LeRoy Sr. He was renowned for his paintings of cats, executed in both oils and watercolors. Paintings of pets were highly coveted by the wealthy upper classes of the 1800s and LeRoy's charming compositions of mischievous cats in domestic interiors were particular favorites. His works remain just as popular today, found in important private and public collections, such as the Musée d'Art et d'Industrie, in Roubaix, France.
