The edition of De la nature (De Rerum Natura) illustrated with 41 original etchings, is considered one of the most beautiful art books of the 20th century. He was one of the friends of Charles Edmond Kayser, André Derain and Henri Vergé-Serrat and, from 1936–49, traveled along with them to Turkey.
