Born in Lecce, Italy, Maurizio Toffoletti developed a lifelong passion for sculpture, honing his craft at the Academy of Fine Arts. While his roots lie in Egyptian and Classical traditions, his work evolved through the influence of modern masters like Moore and Brancusi. Since moving to Paris in 1989, Toffoletti has specialized in monumental marble works, gaining international acclaim for his "drops of light"—sculptures so thin they achieve transparency—and his sonorous sculptures that vibrate and produce sound when touched.
Inspired by space-time and celestial phenomena, his work has been featured globally, from the Osaka Biennale to a major open-air museum at La Défense. His sculptures are held in prestigious public and private collections worldwide.
