Rare and extremely chic Spring 1979 MICHAELE VOLLBRACHT abstract print cotton ensemble! Vollbracht only ran his fashion line from 1979 to 1985. This was from his first collection! Features a strapless bandeau handkerchief hem top and matching midi skirt. Warm colors of maroon / burgundy, olive greeen, blue, ivory and black throughout. Top can also be worn multiple ways, as can the skirt. Skirt has an elastic waistband to stretch to fit. Bandeau top is double fabric and has a different print on each side. Rare evening ensemble consisting of a long silk dress and matching coat by noted American artist/designer/author and former creative director for Bill Blass, Michaele Vollbracht. His work can be found in many museum permanent collections. Vollbracht died on June 7, 2018 at the age of 70 and the world lost a brilliant artist and fashion designer. 1979 he launched his own line, which was received so well that it earned him the Coty Award the very next year. Being offered is one of the Couture ensembles from this COTY AWARD collection. It is entitled "Tulips in Rapid Motion" created in very limited production for Neiman Marcus and is considered to be a Couture design.
