Gustave Gautier Attributed Armchair in Oak and Jacquard Fabric, France, 1950s

By Nobilis, Gustave Gautier

Located in The Hague, NL

This rare armchair was produced in France in the late 1950s. The design of this particular model is attributed to the designer Gustave Gautier. The chair has been newly upholstered in a sumptuous ivory/ light cream jacquard Nobilis Paris fabric. By combining very irregular woolly yarns and thrown threads, the fabric has a refined texture and appearance. The oak wood is in very good original condition with a natural, attractive patina. Other designers working in the same French Modern style include Guillerme & Chambron...
