Norma Auer Adams is a painter and writer who completed her bachelor's degree in art from Stanford University in 1961. She is a recipient of the Gehner Watercolor Award, National Association Women Artists (1978) and Greenville Artists Guild Award (1978). After a 30-plus-year career creating paintings and works of art, Norma Jean Anderson (known professionally as Norma Auer Adams) has turned to writing. The subjects covered by this versatile artist have included stories about her paintings, memories of a beloved pet and postcards from her father, saved from childhood that revealed how San Francisco in 1945 saw itself through its penny postcards. Exhibitions include the Triton Museum, California, 1978; the Gallery, Spartanburg, South Carolina, 1978; Birmingham Museum of Art, 1978 and 1980; Asheville Museum, North Carolina, 1978; and more. The artist is represented in numerous public and private collections.
