The series documented the extraordinary ecclesiastical treasures preserved within the Reiche Kapelle (Rich Chapel) of the Munich Residenz during the reign of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, created to preserve and share the artistic and spiritual heritage of the Bavarian royal court. The print depicts an elaborate monstrance or devotional display object, richly adorned with gemstones, enamel decoration, and intricate goldsmith work. At its center appears a finely rendered devotional scene framed within an ornate oval surround, emphasizing both sacred symbolism and royal craftsmanship.
