Peter Durieux signed again in the Netherlands. Anyone who knows the artist knows that his drawings are the source for the paintings he makes. These drawings, made in the landscape, form an important part in the oeuvre of the Groningen artist. The "plein air draftsman" draws a few mornings or afternoons per drawing to the same place. He records how the light shows the landscape. It is important for Durieux that the light is the same as the day before, which is why the artist always opts for the same moments of the day in the same place. The tonal landscapes show a silence and an unparalleled intimacy. Peter Durieux signed for this exhibition in Brabant on the Strabrechtse Heide (near Nuenen in Heeze) and in Groningen, the province where he lives. He made paintings from these drawings.
