Lucky Bamboo Path Photo Taken by Peter Lik in Maui Hawaii, Green Bamboo, Framed
By Peter Lik
Located in Port Washington, NY
"Bamboo Path". Photograph / paper. Signed and numbered 229 of 950, Matte Black Frame
Dimensions: 25" h x 39" w. including Frame
Quote From The Artist?:
Maui, Hawaii
"The bamboo forest drew me in like a magnet. Walking through the forest paths was a totally Zen experience and I wanted to capture this feeling through my lens. I needed soft light for my delicate exposure - and total calm. My hike started out at first light — I knew finding the perfect section of the mile-long path would be challenging. There is never enough time in the day to get everything perfect — as composition is always critical. As the sun rose high, winds chimed throughout the forest. Although this sounded amazing, it created drama for shooting as I needed the forest to be perfectly still. I reached the falls at the end of...

Trump by Peter Winnett
By Peter Winnett
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia
An original contemporary art painting by Canadian artist Peter Winnett expressing the archetype of wrath. An icon of an immovable anchor of nationalism and old fashioned masculine grandiosity, Trump puts his money where his mouth is. This is the third painting in the Seven Deadly Sins series.
The painting is oil and mixed media on canvas.

Artist statement:
Brand Heresy
The first 7 paintings represent a type of cultural deconstruction. Trying to evolve the art away from conventional to a more distinctive style and create a unique hybrid. Icons, symbols and brands have been combined with a very personal process that challenges how icons are portrayed. My approach is to collide opposites, a bold contrast, creative tensions. My aim is to create passionate confrontation between my intuitive vision and the brand fodder of commercial enterprise.
This is considered a type of brand heresy.
Born in 1969, Peter Winnett developed his art approach early on. Graduating from the NSCAD art institute in Halifax in 1993, he currently resides in Yaletown, Vancouver, with international clients in New York, London, San Francisco and elsewhere.
