Philip Martin was born in 1927 in England. In 1948, he started painting at The Abbey Art Center in London. In the 1950s, he exhibited in Paris together with the Tachistes (Jean Dubuffet and Henri Michaux). In 1951, Martin had his first solo show in Florence. After traveling around the world, Martin eventually settled in Sydney. Martin’s artworks are represented in both public and private collections.
