Rackstraw Downes Wall Decorations
Rackstraw Downes is a British-born realist painter and author. He was born on November 8, 1939, in Pembury. Downes moved to the United States and studied painting as an exchange student at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut from 1957–58. His works present an abstract rendering with hard-edge forms and a strong juxtaposition of colors.
